I love nature, chickens and birds of all kinds, all animals, fudge, humor, writing mysteries, and helping writers.
I’m currently working on mystery novels, picture books for children, scripts, and I’m reading good books and leaving reviews on social media and through my free newsletter.

I’m also a long-time writing instructor/coach, having spent considerable time teaching and putting on conferences and retreats at University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies. I answer questions for writers—FREE. Contact me via email.
My free 2024 newsletter features monthly tips for “writing fast,” especially designed to help writers who may have contracts or other reasons to not put off their good storytelling talents.
Fudge or fowl get a spotlight in my mysteries. I mix in fun, humor, little-known facts, recipes oftentimes, and bits about Wisconsin culture. There are different types of fudge around the world, but it only took hold in this country in the 1840s when it sold for pennies at fundraisers at Vassar College. A new, third mystery series is in the works, so stay-tuned this year 2024! It’s set in southern Wisconsin.
They say in Wisconsin there’s a holy trinity of beer, brats, and cheese. Did you know Door County, Wisconsin has the most lighthouses in a single county in the United States? The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse pictured on this page is featured in Book 2 of the Fudge Shop Mystery Series.
The Mischief in Moonstone Series also unfolds next to water—Lake Superior.
Chickens pop up in various stories within the Mischief in Moonstone Series, though they don’t take center stage. I belong to several chicken groups on Facebook. Perhaps we’ve met?
